About
An association built around the practice of AI, not around the noise about it.
AIPIA — Associazione Italiana Professionisti dell'Intelligenza Artificiale — is the first and largest Italian professional association for AI practitioners. It was founded in 2025 to give the country's AI workforce a single, credible voice at the institutional table.
Origin
Why an association, and why in 2025.
Artificial intelligence reshapes how Italian professionals work, produce and communicate. Until recently, the technicians, consultants, researchers, trainers and entrepreneurs working with AI in Italy had no unified voice that could represent them in front of regulators, media or universities.
AIPIA was founded to fill that gap. It is constituted as a professional association under Italian Law 4/2013, registered as a non-profit, independent of any commercial interest. The legal seat sits at Via Ostiense 92, in Rome.
More than three hundred and forty members have joined since founding. Annual dues are twelve euro, and membership is open to any practitioner working with AI in good faith.
Mission
Four mandates, declared in the founding charter.
Institutional representation
Carrying the voice of AI professionals to decision tables in Italy and Europe — ministries, regulators, companies, media.
Continuing professional development
Workshops, courses, webinars and events whose programmes culminate in the European AI Credential.
Ethics and professional standards
A code of ethics co-developed with universities and institutions, setting standards on privacy, algorithmic transparency and professional liability.
Dialogue and policy
Convening companies, public administration and research toward a responsible and inclusive uptake of AI.
Why this site exists
Italian roots, European reach.
aipia.eu is not a separate organisation. It is the same AIPIA presented to readers across the European Union who do not read Italian or Spanish. Its job is straightforward: to make AIPIA findable in twenty-two languages, to explain what it does, and to send members and partners back to aipia.it where the work happens.
Three reasons drive the European-facing presence: defending the AIPIA name across the .eu top-level domain, building awareness in countries that do not yet know the association, and giving non-Italian-speaking practitioners a clear way to reach the operational hub in Rome.
